Day
1 Phuket - Khao Sok National Park
After pick up from your hotel or Phuket Airport,
should you arrive with an early morning flight (please
advise time), cross the bridge to the mainland
and drive on through sparsely populated coastal
regions.Go for a one hour trek on elephant back
and have a Thai-style lunch in a beach-side
restaurant in the now famous Khaolak area. Leaving
the coastal regions, the street climbs up the
mountains to cross the watershed to reach Khao
Sok National Park, one of the most important
connected areas of tropical rain forest in Southern
Thailand. After arrival, check in at the “jungle
lodge”, simple stilt-built wooden bungalows
with a small veranda, double or twin beds with
moscitonet and a private bathroom. You have
time to take a ride down the river in an inflated
tyre, if the current is not too strong or explore
the surroundings together with your guide. Dinner
is served in the “jungle lodge” and you will
sleep under the moscitonet with the sound of
the surrounding nature around. |

Day
2 Khao Sok National Park
After breakfast drive to the man-made reservoir
that covers almost 10% of Khao Sok National
Park. A
boat trip across the huge lake, will bring you
to a floating ranger station hidden in a small
bay amidst rain-forest covered hills one hour
later. Start for a trek, that will take about
one and a half hour in one direction, depending
on weather conditions and the water level of
the lake. The trail is not difficult, does not
have any steep inclinations, but some climbs
over fissured rocks are necessary and the river
has to be crossed several times. Your destination
is a cave in the rain forest, where you will
have time to explore
the subterranean river and have picnic lunch.
Return back on the same way to take a shower
in the station and return by boat to the dam,
passing sunken trees and high-rising cliffs.
Go on by minibus through the impressive landscape
of Khao Sok to descend slowly to the coast to
reach a resort built at the margins of Sri Phang
Nga National Park. Accommodation in simple bungalows
with private bathroom. |

swamps to James Bond Island. Board a converted
Chinese junk (joint tour) for lunch on board
