Day 1 Phuket - Khao Sok National Park
Khaolak Beaches, South ThailandAfter pick up from your hotel or Phuket Airport, should you arrive with an early morning flight (please advise time), cross the bridge to the mainland and drive on through sparsely populated coastal regions. You will stop for a visit to a hot spring and have a Thai-style lunch in a beach-side restaurant in the now famous Khaolak area. After passing through the old tin-mining town of Takuapa, with its over hundred years old Chinese-style row houses, the street climbs up the mountains to cross the watershed to reach Khao Sok National Old Takuapa, South ThailandPark, one of the most important connected areas of tropical rain forest in Southern Thailand. After arrival, check in at the "jungle lodge", simple stilt-built wooden bungalows with a small veranda, double or twin beds with moscitonet and a private bathroom. You have time to take a ride down the river in an inflated tyre, if the current is not too strong or explore the surroundings together with your guide. Dinner is served in the "jungle lodge" and you will sleep under the moscitonet with the sound of the surrounding nature around.

Chieow Laan Lake, Khao Sok National ParkDay 2 Khao Sok National Park
After breakfast drive to the man-made water reservoir that covers almost 10% of Khao Sok National Park. A boat trip across the huge lake, will bring you to a floating ranger station hidden in a small bay amidst rain-forest covered hills one hour later. Have lunch on the raft and go on a trek in the afternoon. Depending on weather conditions and the water level of the lake, the walk will take about one and a half hour in one direction. The trail is not difficult, does not have any steep inclinations, but some climbs over fissured rocks are necessary and the river has to be crossed several times.Crossing the RiverYour destination is a cave in the rain forest, where you will have time to explore the subterranean river. You can even decide (depending on weather conditions, the water level and the advise of the accompanying ranger) to return part of the way back through the cave. Otherwise, you will return back on the same way to reach the raft houses in time for dinner. Accommodation in one of the small floating bungalows, that are equipped with thin mattresses on the ground. The communal toilet and bathroom are built on the shore.
